I’m writing this review while watching the “Modern Art Gallery” channel on Redux TV, curated by editor named Kira. I’m sure there are other and older reviews about this app (and website), founded 2010 and available as app probably since the launch of the Google TV platform, but I just started to use it a lot more and wanted to give you my angle.

I started a new project, named “Song A Day”. The idea is to compose a song and create video for it, or vice versa – every day.
There a few rules in place. Everything must be composed, recorded, played and produced with apps and tools only on a mobile device. The songs and videos should be around 20 seconds long. Add tags for instruments and apps used.
Ambitious I know. But, it will be interesting to see how creative can a person be every day, and what will happen down the line with inspiration, mood and quality.
I will share the videos on Vimeo “Song A Day” channel and put the songs on Soundcloud Set under same album name for you interested in following this project.

Finally! We are live and I can shout about it. We released HTML5 support for DoubleClick Studio. Now, as advertiser you can reach out to all web-kit based mobile browsers (iOS, Android), or totally switch to HTML5 Ad Design and Development if you wish, as you can leverage same assets, design and UX for in-app advertising with iAd and AdMob. Design and build consistent campaigns for all platforms. From the information sheet:
“HTML5 makes it possible to improve ad engagement levels among the growing number of people who browse the web from devices that don’t have Flash. This includes Apple iOS devices (e.g. iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch), which don’t allow Flash, and Android 2.2 devices (e.g. Droid, myTouch, etc.), which require users to download Flash to the device. Together, iOS and Android devices make up 3.8% of all operating systems in the United States1. Not only is this a large footprint of devices, but web usage on these devices nears that of traditional PCs. With these trends in mind, advertisers need a way to serve up ads on the mobile web that are more engaging than backup GIFs.”
Go end download some sample files form the Google Ads Help Center to learn how you can design HTML Ads and deliver great design and user experience using web standard technologies.
Yay!
It all started with my “Rich Media Advertising with SVG and JavaScript” research and prototyping, and I’m very pleased and happy we developed platform to support web-standards based advertising ecosystem. Just thinking of accessibility and semantics of the web we are trying to build, I believe this will contribute to the efforts and users will benefit most.
