The conference is over. It was good. Good presentations, good chat and some good questions and answers, overall – I’m satisfied. On the photo above left to right are me and my colleagues Amy Varga and James Aylett.
The best presentation for me was “One web, Acid2 and CSS3” by Håkon Wium Lie.

On the photo above, Håkon is presenting the “$100 Computer Project” with Opera running on it.
Next weekend I’m on Hack Day London 2007, and will try to create and design something useful and crazy with the Yahoo’s and BBC’s APIs and RSS feeds in on night and one day.
No, it is not about the COLOUR.
It is about writing smarter and less code to achieve your goal and save the planet. If all developers in the world reduce their code, it will have a great impact on the energy we need to run our technology society. Less code down the wires means less CPU power on servers and clients. Can you imagine how much can be saved on the global scale.
It is not only the spam that needs solving and those evil people eating so much CPU power, but it is us developers who can contribute in saving the planet even more.
So, please always consider writing the smartest code you can came up with, hand code – don’t use silly software to write code for you, write less lines, and reduce the whitespace, compress your files with gzip over the net etc.
I will come on this in more detail later, I have to go now…
Be a green developer.
The time is now.
I hope it will live up to my expectations.
